Is an inflatable board suitable for beginners?
Yes, all Starboard inflatable boards are designed to be stable and easy to inflate: it takes about 10–15 minutes with the included double-action pump to reach operating pressure (15–17 PSI, depending on the model). The Deluxe Lite and iGO models are best suited to beginners.
What is included in the package?
In general, the board comes with a wheeled backpack-style bag (roll bag), a double-action hand pump, a removable center fin and, where indicated in the product listing, a paddle and/or kayak kit. Specific details are listed in the technical specifications for each model.
What is the difference between Deluxe, Deluxe Lite, and Double Chamber construction?
Deluxe is the top-of-the-range construction, with Airline Technology (aramid cable + carbon stringer) where available, for maximum stiffness. Deluxe Lite weighs up to 2 kg less for the same size, making it ideal for transport. Double Chamber (DDC) adds a secondary air chamber to further stiffen the board, and is used on Surf and Longboard models.
How do I choose the right size?
In general, wider boards (30"+) offer more stability and are recommended for beginners or heavier paddlers; narrower boards (24"–28") glide faster but require better balance. The recommended maximum weight for each size is listed in the size chart for each product.
