Functionality
Starboard technical apparel is made with Clima Core technology: a waterproof and windproof membrane that adapts to external conditions thanks to its breathable structure, and which, depending on the temperature, retains or disperses body heat to maintain constant comfort.
The three-layer elastic fabric, combined with a waterproof front zipper and latex cuffs on the arms and legs, protects against water and wind even at low temperatures. Reflective details on the arms and legs improve visibility in low light conditions (dawn/dusk), while extended cuffs over the back of the hand offer extra protection from the elements.
Thanks to the garment's waterproofness, it is also possible to add intermediate thermal layers under the wetsuit depending on the temperature (the same "onion" principle used in skiing): this allows you to stay in the water comfortably and safely even in very harsh conditions.
Fit
Unlike neoprene, the SUP suit is very quick to put on and take off: it doesn't absorb water, just shake it to remove drops and you're always ready to wear a perfectly dry suit for the next outing.
The breathable and highly elastic fabric allows for a close-fitting cut. The cuffs on the arms and legs and the waist are adjustable with velcro closures: depending on the temperature, one or more thermal layers can be worn under the suit.
The long front zipper and special neoprene collar increase wearing comfort, ensuring a good watertight seal without chafing the skin. The back panel construction also offers greater freedom of movement, particularly during paddling, making the suit extremely comfortable thanks to the Ultra Flex Clima Core outer fabric, which is elastic and breathable.
