TwinFin Paddleboard – Fast Lines, Free Slides (Fast, loose and super fun SUP surf)

The TwinFin Paddleboard is designed for speed and freedom: fast lines, wide turns and controlled tail slides. Its unique shape, with a pronounced hip behind the fins, generates dynamic curves and a loose “skate-like” feel that allows you to perform high-line rail maneuvers with great ease. The channel tail increases acceleration and helps the tail recover during radical slides, keeping you in control on every wave.

From small, weak waves to overhead conditions, the TwinFin helps intermediate surfers push for more radical turns with less technique, and offers advanced riders a fluid, high-performance, and stylish ride.

In short: why choose TwinFin

  • Down-the-line speed with reduced drag thanks to the channel.
  • Loose and “skatey” feel for quick pivots and natural tail slides.
  • Versatile: surprisingly effective even in overhead waves (pumping from the bottom and accelerating through the sections).
  • Excellent for small/weak waves: generates easy speed and recovers quickly after maneuvers and slides.

Comparison with Spice and Pro (how to position it)

The TwinFin is the best choice for small and less powerful waves, because it allows intermediate riders to surf more radically with less technique. It stays “alive” along the entire wave, generates speed easily, and recovers quickly. Despite its small-wave focus, it also handles overhead waves well, pumping from the bottom and running through the sections.

Compared to Spice and Pro, the TwinFin is looser and “unlocks” speed more quickly. The Pro remains the high-performance choice for larger and more critical waves, with maximum hold and control. The Spice is more versatile with quad or thruster setups, beveled rails for rail-to-rail transitions, and more hold. The TwinFin completes the range (it does not replace it) and is perfect for those looking for relaxed lines, fast arcs, and tail-slide turns.

Shape & performance details

  • Ultimate Speed & Flow: high down-the-line speed with reduced drag; the channel maintains flow even in weak sections, connecting maneuvers with ease.
  • Effortless Turns & Looser Feel: “skatey” ride for pivots and tail slides; the hip and the moon tail create a natural pivot point for quick changes of direction.
  • Pronounced Hip & Moon Tail: a slight “break” behind the fins that narrows the tail for sharp pivots, with a loose but controlled feel.
  • Channel Tail Release: generates lift and extra speed, widens the sweet spot for both front-foot and back-foot riders, and helps with recovery and maneuver setup.
  • Fine rails all the way to the tail: increases responsiveness and agility. Fuller rails at the nose help push down-the-line, while thinner rails reduce swing weight for faster rotations.
  • Domed or flatter deck: smaller sizes have a domed deck for sensitivity and thinner rails; wider models have a flatter deck for stability and comfort.
  • Twinz Fin Setup: two large fins reduce drag for more speed, with good hold and easy tail release. Option to add a nubster for more control and “bite” in bigger surf.
  • Centre Handles: from 8'3” and up, a larger IQ Handle for grip and comfort; from 7'9” and down, a smaller handle to reduce bulk under the feet and adapt to the more compact board. Both with double grip (grip from both sides).

Quick guide (model descriptions)

  • 9’0” x 33” | 166 L – up to 130+ kg: surprising control despite the wide tail; accelerates easily without having to move back too far. Ideal fishy all-rounder (approved by Pete Cox).
  • 8’9” x 32” | 150 L – up to 120 kg: stable yet high-performance; fluid carves, quick acceleration, and easy control (signed by Pete Cox).
  • 8’6” x 31” – for those who want a stable platform for long sessions or choppy days; more stable than the 8'3” but slightly faster and more maneuverable than the 8'9”.
  • 8’3” x 30” | 125 L – up to 110 kg: retro feel + modern performance; smooth acceleration and high-line turns; thin off-the-channel vee for continuous flow.
  • 8’0” x 29” | 112 L – more stable than the 7'9” and more maneuverable than the 8'3” thanks to its shorter length and slightly narrower outline.
  • 7’9” x 28” | 103 L – up to 95 kg: speed and agility on the face; loose tail with quick recovery to connect maneuvers. “Fast lines, free slides”.
  • 7’3” x 26” | 85 L – up to 85 kg: fluid rail turns and powerful cutbacks; shape capable even in overhead waves, but super fun in small waves.
  • 6’9” x 24” | 70 L – up to 70 kg: incredible speed and great “tail blow” capability; for advanced riders who want to push the limits of control.

Construction

Acute Carbon – Lightweight, strong & extra responsive

  • Premium craftsmanship: handbuilt construction with a premium process.
  • 25 kg EPS core: greater break strength and a “live” flex.
  • Rapid recoil: 45° biaxial fiber with almost double the recoil of conventional glass layups.
  • Targeted patches: reinforcements in the standing area for impact protection without sacrificing flex.
  • Explosive response: drive and precision in every maneuver.

Limited Series – Timeless look, solid performance

  • Multiple reinforcement: impact resistance in the standing area, nose, and tail; 200g glass wrap along the rails to prevent buckling.
  • Optimized EPS core: custom-molded 15 kg/m³ EPS, lightweight and cut-resistant, with zero EPS waste.
  • Rigid deck: 0.6 mm layer of sustainable Australian pine for greater strength and stiffness.
  • Twin T-stringers: integrated into the deck and bottom as “i-beams” near the rails to prevent total breakage during heavy drops.
  • Robust fin boxes: made of recycled Akulon Eco, wrapped in high-density foam, and reinforced with over 1000 g of glass.

Q&A (Frequently Asked Questions)

Is the TwinFin suitable for small waves?
Yes: it is designed specifically for small and less powerful waves, where it generates speed easily and makes more radical maneuvers possible with less technique.

Can it also handle overhead waves?
Yes: surprisingly, it also holds up well in overhead waves, allowing you to pump from the bottom and accelerate through the sections while maintaining flow and control.

How does it compare to the Spice and Pro?
The TwinFin is looser and generates speed earlier. The Pro remains the top choice for large/critical waves (hold and control). The Spice is more versatile (quad/thruster) with bevelled rails for rail-to-rail transitions and more grip.

What fin setup does it use?
It uses a Twinz setup (two large fins) to reduce drag and increase speed, with easier tail release. You can add a nubster for more control in big surf.

Which size should I choose?
9'0” 166L up to 130+ kg (maximum stability). 8'9” 150L up to 120 kg (stable and high-performance). 8'3” 125L up to 110 kg (balanced and fast). 7'9” 103L up to 95 kg (super fun and agile). 7'3” 85L up to 85 kg and 6'9” 70L up to 70 kg for advanced riders.

What handle does the board have?
From 8'3” and up, it uses the larger, more comfortable IQ Handle; from 7'9” and down, a smaller handle for better comfort underfoot and to suit the compact board.

Is the Board Sock included?
Yes: it protects against dust, scratches, and UV rays and reduces packaging waste.
