Functionality
Starboard technical garments are made with Clima Core technology: a waterproof and windproof membrane that adapts to external conditions thanks to its breathable structure, and which, depending on the temperature, retains or dissipates body heat to maintain constant comfort.
The three-layer stretch fabric, combined with a waterproof front zipper and latex cuffs on arms and legs, protects against water and wind even in low temperatures. Reflective details on arms and legs improve visibility in low light conditions (dawn/dusk), while cuffs extended to the back of the hand offer extra protection from the elements.
Thanks to the garment's waterproofing, it is also possible to combine, depending on the temperature, intermediate thermal layers under the suit (the same "onion" principle used in skiing): this allows you to stay in the water comfortably and safely even in very harsh conditions.
Fit
Unlike neoprene, the SUP suit is very quick to put on and take off: it does not absorb water, just shake it to remove droplets and you are always ready to wear a perfectly dry suit for the next outing.
The breathable and highly elastic fabric allows for a close-fitting cut. The cuffs of the arms and legs and the waist are adjustable with velcro fasteners: depending on the temperature, one or more thermal layers can be worn under the suit.
The long front zipper and special neoprene collar increase comfort of use, ensuring a good watertight seal without rubbing on the skin. The back panel construction also offers greater freedom of movement, especially while paddling, making the suit extremely comfortable thanks to the elastic and breathable Ultra Flex Clima Core outer fabric.
