GA Sails Vapor Air 2026
Completely redesigned foil racing sail to increase speed, balance, and control: more stable, more efficient, and more agile in maneuvers and around the buoy.
Description
The Vapor Air 2026 redefines performance in foil racing thanks to a complete redesign focused on speed, balance, and control. Building on the excellent foundation of the 2025 model, this evolution combines advanced materials, a new outline, and refined aerodynamics to offer more stability, efficiency, and responsiveness around the buoys.
New Project 85 Aramid Technology construction
The core of the project is the new construction with Project 85 Aramid Technology UPE laminate used on the mast sleeve (full mast sleeve) and batten pockets. It is an ultra-light, low-stretch, and very resistant material: it increases profile stability and load response, reducing overall weight. In addition, the low clew panel in Color Monofilm further lightens the sail, making it more reactive and balanced.
2026 Outline: shorter boom and lower clew
For 2026, the Vapor Air adopts a completely new outline with a shorter boom and lower clew, as well as updated luff curves, profiles, and batten configuration. The result is a 360° performance boost: optimized aerodynamics, more control, and more efficient "forward-driving" thrust, with improved acceleration and high-end stability.
Optimized large sizes
The entire range has been harmonized, with a refinement of the larger sizes (especially 8.0 and 7.3) to ensure a uniform feel: constant balance and control regardless of conditions.
In summary, it retains the strengths of the previous model—early lift, easy handling, and smooth rotation—but pushes speed, control, and agility even further. The Vapor Air 2026 is the highest level of evolution in foil racing, to accelerate, fly, and maneuver harder than ever.
Key features
- Continuous Radial Panel Layout: continuous panels arranged along natural load paths; fewer cross-seams, better load distribution, and cleaner feel.
- Project 85 Aramid Technology (mast sleeve & batten pockets): ultra-light and low-stretch UPE laminate mast sleeve and batten pockets for stable profile, quick response, and high durability.
- New Outline Design: shorter boom and lower clew for smoother handling, especially during gybes and buoy maneuvers.
- Updated Luff Curves & Profiles: more stability and more consistent power at all wind angles.
- High Tension Profile: high profile tension for control and consistent drive even when the wind changes.
- Cross Batten Concept: more stable profile and more "fixed" center of pressure.
- Color Monofilm Foot Panel: weight reduction in the lower section while maintaining robustness and responsiveness.
- Optimized Size Range: small optimizations on large sizes for continuity of feel across the entire range.
New feature introduced since 2025: Continuous Radial Panel Layout
This technology uses continuous panels aligned with the sail's load lines, eliminating many "cross" seams. Benefits: smoother handling, greater efficiency, and more solid top-end performance.
