SLALOM / PWA RACE
The new iSONIC 63, 67, and 73 reimagine acceleration: revised cutaways reduce wetted surface area, and the triangular stabilizer ensures fin control, stability, and speed. The iSONIC 60, 77, and 85 remain the benchmark models, with proven and reliable performance.
Novelty
- New shape 63 / 67 / 73
- Optimized double cutaways
- Triangular stabilizer
- Options: Carbon Reflex and Wood Sandwich
Main features
Cutaways revised (63 / 67 / 73)
Redesigned cutaways lower wetted surface area and drag, allowing for cleaner exit from the water for instant acceleration and near-maximum top speed.
Triangular stabilizer
Exclusive to the new models: increases fin control and stability in gusts, improving steering precision and trim at full power.
Speed-oriented stance
The rear footstrap placement is optimized to reduce drag and maximize toe-off speed.
Double step cutaway
The improved double steps allow for a smoother release and more lift on the fin.
Shaft box adjustment
The repositioned mast box increases trim freedom and promotes smoother planing.
Extra central volume
More support in the middle of the board for quicker starts and maintained speed in the air holes.
Footstrap Eco
Made from plant-based Yulex foam (85% natural rubber, FSC) to reduce your CO2 footprint.
Constructions
Carbon Reflex Sandwich (CRS) - Flagship
The flagship iSonic range. Its low weight facilitates early planing, cuts through air pockets, and maximizes top speed. It features the stiffest construction for the best control on chop and waves.
The deck uses biaxial and unidirectional carbon (45/30/0 degrees) for optimized flex and return; the bottom uses even lighter UD carbon from nose to tail with an additional 45-degree biaxial layer in the tail for increased torsional stiffness.
Wood Sandwich - ultralight and sustainable
The historic Wood technology (developed by Jean Louis Colmas and a Starboard brand since 1995) returns with a modern twist to offer comfort, control and a unique crisp feel.
Full wood sandwich lamination with 0.6 mm Australian Pine: durability and optimal weight-to-stiffness ratio. Updated graphics with UV protection, visible grain, and an elegant finish.
What to choose each size for
- iSONIC 60 (91 L / 60 cm): Maximum stability in rough seas; long central flat for safe control and reduced drag.
- iSONIC 63 (98 L / 63 cm): New responsive shape; deep cutaways and triangular stabilizer for on/off acceleration and agile control.
- iSONIC 67 (111 L / 67 cm): Evolution of speed; reduced drag, quick response in gusts.
- iSONIC 73 (123 L / 73 cm): Focus on top speed; optimized shape for acceleration and fin control at high speeds.
- iSONIC 77 (129 L / 77 cm): Proven and balanced design for experienced racers and freeriders.
- iSONIC 85 (147 L / 85 cm): Top performance; refined forward Vee and wider secondary cutaways for maximum acceleration and precision.

Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)
Which iSONIC size should I choose?
General guidelines: 60-63 for strong winds and 5.0-7.0 sails; 67-73 for medium winds with 6.2-8.6 sails; 77-85 for light winds or long distances with 7.8-10.0 sails. Consider weight, spot size, and the need for an early start.
What is the difference between Carbon Reflex and Wood Sandwich?
Carbon Reflex: lighter and stiffer, maximizes acceleration and control in chop. Wood Sandwich: more comfortable and progressive feel, excellent control and durability with a lower environmental impact.
Are fins included?
No, the boards are supplied without fins. See the table for recommended sizes.
What kind of frame does each size have? Can I use foil?
Tuttle on 60/63/67, Deep Tuttle on 73/77,
How do I adjust the tree box?
Move the mast foot forward for more control and smooth glide; move it back to free the bow and maximize speed.
How are eco footstraps made?
Made of Yulex (85% FSC certified natural rubber) with durable coatings: same support and lower environmental impact.
