La Chopper è uno shape super versatile: ha il volume e la lunghezza per prendere onde da ginocchia o per un take-off anticipato in onde ben sopra la testa.
Il design ha un po' di volume in avanti e un rocker d'ingresso basso, per un bel trim in avanti su onde aperte o in condizioni piccole. C'è abbastanza schiuma sotto il petto per pagaiare bene senza sembrare grande e ingombrante.
In coda, il raffinamento moderno su uno stile egg classico si vede nella coda ristretta combinata a un rail basso, concave singola/doppia e uscita di rocker fluida, che la rende sorprendentemente vivace se surfata dalla coda.
Ha una configurazione 2+1 e può essere cavalcata come 2+1, single o twin fin.
Costruzione - ACT
Le tavole Torq ACT sono le prime al mondo in EPS/Epossidica pre-preg, il processo composito con il miglior rapporto resistenza/peso e la miglior elasticità (reflex) di qualsiasi laminazione in fibra di vetro.
Di cosa si tratta?
Pre-preg significa pre-impregnato: resina e catalizzatore vengono applicati a macchina sul tessuto per creare una matrice fibra-resina con contenuto e distribuzione perfetti, tagliata a macchina e polimerizzata ad alta temperatura e pressione in forno.
Quali sono i vantaggi?
Reflex: i laminati a mano, anche sottovuoto, trattengono resina in eccesso che aggiunge peso e fragilità. Il pre-preg usa la densità di resina perfetta, così la fibra lavora senza i limiti della resina in eccesso: in acqua questo si traduce in una sensazione elastica e reattiva, che restituisce tutta l'energia caricata in virata.
Rapporto resistenza/peso: a parità di peso si può usare più fibra, rendendo le ACT significativamente più resistenti di una tavola dello stesso peso in qualsiasi altra costruzione (2-3 volte la fibra di un PU leggero).
Come vanno in acqua?
Si sentono vive fin da subito: una via di mezzo tra un PU leggero e un'epossidica, con una reattività extra che non si trova in nessuna delle due. Ci si abitua in fretta, ma dopo qualsiasi altra tavola sembra piatta al confronto.
