Pyro 2027 – Pro Wave Windsurf Board
Philip Köster Pro Wave: completely redesigned, planes earlier and is more effective on the wave.
Designed together with 5-time world champion Philip Köster, the Pyro 2027 is a total redesign: new shape, new rails, new construction. It planes earlier and is sharper on the wave.
The forward-shifted volume gets you planing earlier, the wider tail with thinner, refined edges increases grip and maneuverability, and the rear footstraps put you over the tail: more leverage, tighter turns. This combination extends the range of every size: you can use a smaller board with earlier planing, or step up in size and continue to carve on the wave.
The rail transitions from a concave V to a flat bottom and finally to a double concave, for smoother rail-to-rail transitions, faster acceleration, and predictable grip in turns. Aggressive aesthetics, PK performance, SV attention to detail.

From a concave V to a flat bottom and finally to a double concave: smoother transitions, faster acceleration, and predictable grip.
Forward volume
Earlier planing and greater stability.
Wider tail, thinner edges
More grip and maneuverability on the wave.
Rear footstraps
Position you over the tail: more leverage and tighter turns.
Rocker
More nose rocker for better wave entry, less raised tail to maintain speed and drive out of turns.
Severne Wave construction
Biaxial carbon, S-glass, and E-glass on an ultralight 15.5 kg/m³ EPS core, high-density PVC shell, and localized reinforcements on the heels, mast base, nose, and tail.
NYCA fins
Injection technology with a mix of thermoplastic polymer and carbon fibers: lighter and stronger than G10 or RTM, with active flex and high impact resistance.
Glossy ceramic edges
Finish up to 18% lighter, 2H hardness, water-repellent, salt- and scratch-resistant, and UV-stable: no yellowing.
Fin configurations
Quad
The most stable option and standard configuration: when the wave is big and you need more grip, it is solid and reliable.
Thruster
Planes earlier and handles strong currents and gusty wind better.
Twin
The freest, most fun, and most maneuverable option: with strong wind and waves to play with, it is Philip's daily choice.

Frequently asked questions about the Pyro
What's new in the Pyro 2027?
It is a complete redesign: new shape, new rails, and new construction. More forward volume for earlier planing, a wider tail with thinner edges for more grip, rear footstraps, a concave V to double concave rail, carbon wave construction, and included NYCA fins. 8 sizes from 66 to 109 liters.
What fin configuration does it come with?
Quad, with NYCA fins included. The 5 Slot Box also allows for thruster or twin configurations, which can be changed with the included HEX-4 key.
Which fin configuration is recommended?
The Pyro works in twin, thruster, and quad: they are all options Philip Köster uses depending on the wind and waves.
What is the difference between the Nano and the Pyro?
The Nano is shorter, fits tightly in the pocket, and requires more technique; it is quad only. The Pyro is more versatile, planes earlier, is faster, and offers several fin configurations.
Which size should I choose?
Use the rider weight chart: thanks to the forward volume, you can choose a smaller size without losing planing. Contact us for personalized advice.
What color is the Pyro?
Soul Red Crystal, 95% Fluo Red + 5% Bright Red and Warm Grey 7527U.
Should I remove the Gore-Tex vent valve before a flight or trip?
No, the valve should not be touched or removed: it automatically regulates the board's internal pressure.
Does the vent valve need to be replaced over time?
Yes, it is recommended to replace it approximately every 3 years. We can provide you with the original replacement.
The footstraps are too wide; can I narrow them?
Yes. Just turn the plastic inserts at both ends of the footstrap: the width is reduced, and the fit becomes tighter.
Where can I find replacement parts (footstraps, screws, vent valve)?
You can request them directly from us: we will help you find the correct original replacement for your board.
