Dyno 2027 – Freewave Windsurf Board
Epic blasting, pure freewave: an incredibly easy wave board that turns into a speed machine.
The Dyno blurs the line between the performance of a true wave board and the speed of a freeride board. Born from the DNA of Philip Köster's Pyro, it is the easiest wave board to use in the range and at the same time a high-speed blasting machine.
The raised nose rocker and refined rails allow you to surf waves with confidence, without the typical steep learning curve. Whatever your level, the forgiving nature of the Dyno inspires confidence. The new swallow tail maintains drive in turns and prevents the back foot from sinking, an essential aspect for those who are progressing.
From waves to blasting in a few seconds: in thruster configuration it attacks the wave with predictable precision; with the single center fin it becomes a very fast freeride board, with the full-throttle drive typical of racing boards.

Technology
Parallel outline
Reduces drag and increases stability. The reduced overall width gives the feeling of a smaller and more maneuverable board.
New nose design
Lower rotation weight and a moderate radius point to avoid damaging the sail. The raised nose rocker improves wave riding and provides great speed feeling.
Accelerated rocker
Derived from the Nano, it is flatter and faster in the tail. The entry angle is designed for maximum acceleration and comfort on chop, maintaining enough nose lift for maneuvers and jumps.
Refined hull
Double marked concave with a deep V to easily pass from one rail to the other, even on the larger sizes. The front V cuts through the chop, while the more pronounced V in the fin area increases the rail rocker for precise turns.
Ergonomic foot position
Deck angles designed for comfort in both wave configuration (inner straps) and freeride (outer straps).
Compact volume distribution
The reduced length concentrates the volume where it is needed; the low-volume rails blend into a high-volume support area.
Progressive rails
Sharp release edge in the tail that becomes progressively rounded towards the nose, with a higher apex and rounded front edges to prevent the rail from catching and close more maneuvers.
Fins: single fin
With a single freeride fin and outer straps the Dyno becomes a pure blasting machine.
Fins: thruster
Center Powerbox and two side Slot Boxes: in thruster mode control and maneuverability increase for waves and bump & jump conditions.
Swallow tail
Shallow swallow cut that maintains surface behind the fin box, a legacy of the Pyro.
Comparison with other boards
Compared to the Pyro
- More forgiving: the swallow tail maintains drive in turns and prevents the back foot from sinking
- Earlier planing: the more rearward volume increases lift
- Lighter feeling: less resistance and less load on the equipment
Compared to the Fox
- More maneuverable: more rocker and thinner rails
- Jumps better: Nano-like outline combined with more speed
- More compact: shorter and narrower
The coach's opinion
Windwise coach Simon Bornhoft always carries a Dyno on his tours: easy and progressive, it goes from flat water freeride to any wave spot in an instant, like having two boards in one. His students describe it as "effortless", "forgiving" and "super versatile", with a clear increase in successful turns.
Frequently asked questions about the Dyno
What is the best fin configuration for the Dyno?
Thruster for bump & jump conditions and occasional waves; single fin for running on flat water and reaching maximum speed.
Is the Dyno suitable for those starting to ride waves?
Yes. It is the most accessible wave board in the range: raised nose, refined rails and swallow tail make the approach to waves easy and safe, even for those coming from freeride.
Which size to choose?
It depends on weight and wind. Indicatively: 85 L for riders weighing 60–80 kg, 95 L for 70–90 kg, 105 L for 80–100 kg, 115 L for 90–110 kg as a main board. Contact us for a custom recommendation.
Are the fins included?
Yes, the Dyno comes with the thruster set: two 12.5 cm side fins and one center fin based on the size (from 21.5 to 27.5 cm). The single fin for freeride use is purchased separately.
What bag is needed?
For all sizes, a 230 × 65 cm bag is recommended.
What color is the Dyno?
Soul Red Crystal with 95% Fluo Red + 5% Bright Red.
Should I remove the Gore-Tex vent valve before a flight or trip?
No, the valve should not be touched or removed: it automatically regulates the internal pressure of the board.
Does the vent valve need to be replaced over time?
Yes, it is recommended to replace it approximately every 3 years. We can provide you with the original replacement part.
Can I buy just the nose guard?
No, the nose guard is not sold separately: it is fitted at the factory and can only be requested during the board pre-order phase.
The footstraps are too wide, can I narrow them?
Yes. Just rotate the plastic inserts at both ends of the footstrap: the width is reduced and the fit becomes tighter.
Where can I find spare parts (footstraps, screws, vent valve)?
You can request them directly from us: we will help you find the correct original replacement part for your board.
