NeilPryde Carbon 25
The NeilPryde Carbon 25 is new to the 2026 range and is designed to bridge the gap between the Carbon Pro booms and NeilPryde's high-end aluminium booms, offering performance very close to full carbon but at a more accessible price.
Designed on the same mold as the Carbon Pro 25, it uses a hybrid carbon composite construction that allows for the combination of lightness, rigidity and a direct steering feel, with a slim 25mm diameter ideal for those looking for maximum grip comfort without sacrificing the immediate response of the rig.
Main strengths
- Hybrid carbon wave/freeride boom, new for 2026, with performance close to the Carbon Pro range.
- Slim 25mm diameter, thinner and lighter than many other carbon booms, ideal for a relaxed and natural grip.
- Extremely direct riding feel, designed for riders who want ultra-light booms without sacrificing stiffness.
- Available in two sizes (140-190 and 155-205) to cover most wave/freeride needs, with slightly more extension on the larger size than the Carbon Pro 25.
- Excellent compromise between performance, lightness and price, perfect for upgrading from top-of-the-range aluminum booms.
Technologies and construction details
VT Joint
The VT Joint increases the contact area between the boom and mast attachment, reducing the possibility of point loads and minimizing play in the connection. It can be used with any standard SDM mast and makes it easy to adjust the boom height while maintaining a very direct power transmission.
V-shaped Mast Cup
The mast cup creates two points of contact between the cup and the shaft, ensuring a tight connection and excellent power transmission. The V-shape accommodates variations in standard mast diameters: slightly thinner ones fit deeper into the V, wider ones sit further out, always maintaining a stable fit.
Loop-to-Hook Outhaul System
The “loop-to-hook” clew system ensures low friction and no crossing of the lines, allowing free movement of the sail. It is further enhanced with high quality Dyneema lines and integrated lever on the boom for easy rigging and derigging.
Trim-Pin Lever Design
The Trim-Pin system uses double inserts with an easy-to-operate lock/open lever, making boom length adjustment instantaneous. This solution guarantees optimal load distribution and a rigid connection between the boom body and the tail end.
Integrated Boom Lever
The integrated boom opening/closing lever is designed with a reduced surface area and optimised weight, for quick attachment to the mast without adding bulk or unnecessary weight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Carbon 25 designed for?
It is ideal for windsurfers looking for a lightweight, slim boom with performance very close to the Carbon Pro, but at a more affordable price, perfect as an upgrade from the high-end aluminum boom.
What is the difference between Carbon 25 and Carbon Pro 25?
The Carbon Pro 25 uses full carbon construction and aims for maximum wave/freeride performance, while the Carbon 25 uses hybrid composite to offer a compromise between high performance and low cost, maintaining a 25mm diameter and similar feel.
Is it compatible with RDM trees?
Yes, in the Carbon Wave Boom Comparison table it says RDM/SDM shim “Yes”, so it can be used with both SDM and RDM masts via the appropriate shim/adapter.
Does it have built-in pulleys for adjustable outhaul?
No, the Carbon 25 does not have integrated pulleys for adjustable outhaul; it uses a loop-to-hook system with high-performance Dyneema lines.
Which size should I choose between 140-190 and 155-205?
The 140-190 size is suitable for smaller wave/freeride sails and stronger wind conditions, while the 155-205 is ideal for medium sized freeride/freerace sails and for those who want more margin in the long range.
